Overview

Sequoia Cider Mill Restaurant, nestled at 40311 Sierra Dr in Three Rivers, California, offers an inviting American dining experience enriched by a scenic backdrop and a warm, family-run atmosphere. It stands out as a notable stop for travelers heading toward the iconic Sequoia National Park, capturing both local and visitor attention with its hearty menu and relaxed setting.

The restaurant's culinary focus shines on classic American comfort foods with a strong nod to regional flavors. Signature dishes such as BBQ ribs—available in both half and full racks paired with loaded baked potatoes—are a highlight, known for their tender, smoky appeal. Burgers like the Sequoia Western and the California Burger bring a balanced, satisfying bite, while their Mexican-inspired entrées, including enchiladas suizas and colorful fajitas with chicken, steak, or shrimp, add a vibrant, flavorful twist to the menu. Fresh sides like onion rings, hash browns, and soups round out the meal, complementing the main selections with familiar but well-executed touches.

Sequoia Cider Mill also caters to a broad clientele, from families to solo travelers and outdoor enthusiasts. The spacious layout offers outdoor seating under shaded areas—a calm refuge especially suited for those seeking to unwind after exploring the nearby natural wonders. The expansive views of the river add a tranquil, scenic element that enhances the dining experience. It is a space where simplicity meets warmth, fostering a sense of comfort and community.

Service here is consistently praised for its attentiveness and friendliness. Guests frequently note the cando attitude of the staff, even during slower business periods or when the restaurant operates with a skeleton crew. This dedication creates a personal, welcoming vibe that many find memorable and worth every penny spent.

However, the restaurant’s limited gluten-free options and absence of alcoholic beverages, particularly beer and wine, may be a consideration for some diners. While Modelo Especial beer is mentioned among menu highlights, recent customer feedback indicates a temporary lack of alcohol availability, likely connected to ongoing operational challenges.

Cleanliness and portion sizes receive commendations, affirming the restaurant’s commitment to quality and value. Despite some concerns about pricing on select items and rumors regarding the establishment’s financial status, Sequoia Cider Mill remains a beloved local gem with a consistent focus on generous servings and authentic flavors.

Overall, Sequoia Cider Mill Restaurant offers an unpretentious, satisfying American dining experience enriched by the beauty of its location and the heart of its family-operated ethos. Ideal for those seeking comfort food with a view and genuine hospitality, it stands as a worthwhile dining destination on the edge of one of California’s most treasured national parks.

Great place with an awesome view of the river out back. I'd give them 5 stars but they don't have many gluten free options which I feel is a must these days. The food was delicious, though!

Great small family run restaurant with great views and very friendly staff. Delicious Mexican food, reasonable prices, unfortunately no alcoholic drinks (not even beer - it's non-alcoholic). Great stop on the way from LA to Sekquoia National Park. Will visit again!!

The food was delish! There was only one waitress there working tonight (we went about 2 hours before closing) she was awesome!! There were several customers there, she didn't miss a thing!! Every time our (or anyones) drink got low or if something was needed, she was quick to provide with a smile on her face. Customer service is a biggie, she made our experience worth every dollar spent!!

We were the only ones there on a Monday at 11:00. The BLT was delicious,, as was the Steak Tips breakfast , and the Steak Omelette. My hubby didn’t care for the biscuits and gravy. The fries were delicious! I didn’t like the taste of the water. No one else in our party complained about it though. The restaurant and restrooms were clean. We sat outside under shades. It was great for kids. They don’t sell alcohol FYI. Our server was very nice :)

Seeing the 'for sale' which concerns me this place is struggling financially and will close soon. My opinion of the cleanliness and the service and very tasty, large portion sizes was outstanding. My only negative is that a slice of French toast was $6.49! Ip understand why, and that is sad. I wonder if the for sale sign AND the liquor license revocation have something to do with their perceived pending sale? I feel sad as everything here was pretty good, other than the price for French toast.

A little pricey, $34 for a 10oz New York Steak and $26 for Pork Tenderloin. However both were beautifully cooked and tasty. Unfortunately they have had their liquor license revoked, not a problem to me, but this is affecting trade and atmosphere. Server was very friendly
